Medals Galore for Olney’s Rising Karate Stars

School Karate Club, walked away with two Gold medals on 19th November at the 23rd National Championships of The Traditional Association of Shotokan Karate held in Bedford. She was awarded the coveted ‘TASK cup’ for being the most outstanding competitor of the tournament.
Overall, Olney was the most successful town copeting and was placed first in the medals table, despite strong opposition from Bedford, Flitwick and Huntingdon.
Olney adults, determined not to be eclipsed by their more effervescent junior counterparts came up trumps with Sensei Haydn van Weenen winning gold in the ‘individul Kata’ and bronze in the ‘team Kata’ when he was joined by Gina Anderson and Charlie Elsmore.
