                                    18 Phonebox Magazine | December 2025A new Christmas production about everyone%u2019s favourite cat, Mog is coming to the Royal & Derngate Theatre as part of its Made in Northampton season.Following on from their critically acclaimed co-production of Mog the Forgetful Cat, The Wardrobe Ensemble have created a festive version of the show for 2025, called Mog%u2019s Christmas, and it runs throughout most of December.Featuring more of writer Judith Kerr%u2019s beloved and iconic stories, these timeless tales of family, friendship, and festive fun are brought to life to allow a new generation of children to fall in love with Mog.It's Christmas time, and the Thomas family are looking back on the past year and all the adventures they've shared with their cat, Mog %u2013 from catching a burglar in the spring to a dramatic summer chase at the vet. Now as they prepare for the festive season, Mog is baffl ed by strange noises, peculiar smells, and a tree moving indoors! Just what is going on?The question is: amidst the festive chaos, will Mog ever come inside for Christmas? Join Mog and the Thomas family for a heart-warming festive adventure fi lled with surprises, snowy mischief, and the true meaning of family.Faye Lord plays Mog alongside a full cast including Wardrobe Ensemble members Tom England (Uncle Jolly), Jesse Meadows (Nicky) and Ben Vardy (Mr Thomas).The lively and enchanting production, directed by Helena Middleton will have songs, live music, and a menagerie of creatures little and large. Mog%u2019s Christmas takes to the Royal stage from 6th to 31st December. Running time is around one hour so the production is suitable for ages 3 and upwards.
