September 2025 | Phonebox Magazine 49QUICK BURSTS:Drivers%u2019 lost hoursDrivers spend an average of one day a year worrying about car-related matters, according to a new survey.The findings, from German car maker BMW, show that motorists %u2018lose%u2019 up to 565 hours of their lives, to car-related admin and maintenance planning of thing like service schedules, MOTs and repair work. More than 60% of drivers have missed important occasions because of their car, while others report that they have had to change their plans because of a motoring matter.Half of motorists (49%) said car admin takes up too much %u2018headspace%u2019: 52% said they will use a diary to organise car appointments with 37% relying on their car%u2019s dashboard alert to remind them. Nearly 40% have actively avoided visiting a garage for repair work when their car needed it.When asked what they would do if they had back the time spent on car worries, 33% said they%u2019d read a book, 32% would exercise more and 25% said they would have a well-earned holiday.Micra price revealedNissan has confi rmed pricing for its popular sixth-generation Micra, which was first shown in May this year. Pricing will start at %u00a322,995 for the all-electric 40kWh Engage model. The car is expected to qualify for a %u00a31,500 government Electric Car Grant, which would bring the price down further %u2013 although this grant has not yet been confi rmed. Recent tests have shown the Micra will go up to 260 miles on one charge. The Micra is the fi rst of four new fully electric cars to arrive in the brand%u2019s line-up. With a 100kW DC charger, powering up the little city car takes around 30 minutes to get to 80% charge. The company%u2019s services App allows the driver to maintain a remote control on proceedings, checking charge level, car location, charge scheduling, and temperature inside the vehicle all from their mobile phone.In America the Ford Explorer is a big V6 petrol-powered family utility vehicle with a 10-speed gearbox.
