These were made to fi ve of our most senior members, who together have accumulated 170 years of humanitarian service to our local community. Unfortunately, the weather was dreadful, with thunder, lightning and torrential rain for most of the day. We were some very wet Lions at the end of the day. But it was great to be a part of this prestigious event for the town. Well done, TOG.Newport Pagnell Carnival Car-Park MarshallingA small team of us had a busy morning at Newport Pagnell Carnival! %u2013 helping to park up, hundreds of cars that arrived at the event. What a fantastic occasion. Thank you to the Newport Pagnell Carnival Committee for inviting us along.Newport Pagnell & Olney Lions (CIO)Spectacle Recycling: We collected a large batch of specs from our collection tub located in Punch Opticians and Sainsbury%u2019s, in Olney %u2013 and from Specsavers in Newport Pagnell. Thank you to our retailers and our residents for all their eff orts. We now have around 2,000 pairs ready for the next stage of their journey towards their needy recipients.Printer Cartridge Recycling: We also collected and recycled printer cartridges, which provides us with a modest income.FUND-RAISING EVENTSCherry FairWe had a great day down at the Cherry Fair. We had (imitation) tattoos for the kiddies; knitted dolls on sale, and a fantastic raffl e prize. It%u2019s really great to be a part of such a lovely local event for our local community.DONATIONS%u2022%u2002 We made donations of %u00a31,000 to Motor Neurone Disease, being the proceeds from our successful Motorama event.%u2022%u2002 We also contributed to a %u2018Retiring Collection%u2019 at an event we were invited to, for supporting a number of local charities.MEETINGS AND SOCIAL EVENTS%u2022 %u2002 We were invited to the %u2018launch%u2019 of the charity 24-hour football event being held at the Ousedale School. Our President, Lion Trevor Aldred, was asked to say a few words about Lions %u2013 and to literally kick off the proceedings. %u2022%u2002 We attended the special party of one of our good Friends and valued supporter, Phil.That%u2019s all folks!It%u2019s been a really busy month for us!
