Her JustGiving page currently shows %u00a36,800 raised for the good cause. In 2023 she abseiled down a 400 foot tower in Northampton while last year she took part in the Great North Run, for the fourth time. Claire%u2019s fundraising exploits are made even more amazing because she has the disease herself and last year was pushed around the GNR course in a wheelchair.%u201cIt%u2019s been a hugely tough journey,%u201d says Claire, from Sherington. %u201cOne in which it took two years for an offi cial diagnosis and a journey that is never going to get better until they fi nd a cure, perhaps not in my lifetime.More details and to donate: www.justgiving.com/page/superheroesOlney High Street once again became the centre of attraction as scores of vintage and modern tractors drove down the main road last month.It was all part of the North Bucks Vintage Tractor Club%u2019s Christmas Road Run %u2013 the second it has organised %u2013 in aid of Willen Hospice. Starting at Mill Farm, Gayhurst, the route went through Newport Pagnell, Sherington, Emberton and Olney before heading back via West Underwood. Tractor owners were asked to dress their machines in bright colours and lights with a prize going to the most impressive, and the rest of the money being sent to Willen. Organiser Mark Canvin, of Newport Pagnell recovery fi rm MC Services, said around %u00a32000 had been raised for the charity. He plans to hold a similar event next year.
