Joy and Love this Christmas
Sutcliff Baptist
In the gospel accounts of the birth of Jesus, the angels appeared to shepherds on the hill-side saying they brought good news of great joy for all people, they also proclaimed peace to all mankind. Shepherds were, like most of us, ordinary folk who had to work for a living; they were not the great, rich or famous, they were not an educated elite – and also like us, they could do with some good news!
So how could they know this peace and joy being offered? There are three things that are always linked together in the Bible – Love, Joy and Peace.

Whats On
Pop in and say ‘hello’ on Sunday 4th December, there will be a welcome break from the busy-ness of the Dickens-day festivities: free hot drinks, activities for the children, nice loos(!), we’d love to see you. Join us on Sunday 18th December at 10am for our Family Nativity service, led by our children and young people. Then later on at 6pm join us for our Special Carol Service. Come and join us on Christmas Eve for a short, family-friendly gathering with familiar carols and hot drinks and mince pies provided. Between 6.30-7.00pm at Olney Infant Academy (Under Early Years canopy – both gates should be open.) In case of extreme bad weather we will meet at the Baptist church at 6:45pm.
On Christmas Day we will be holding a short family service at 10.00am.
Give the New Year a good start with a special ‘Covenant service’ – get to know God more in 2017. We will thank God for all He has done in the last year, and renew our trust in Him for the New Year.
We will share Holy Communion and remember how God has shown His love to us in Jesus. January 1st, 10 am. We’d love to see you! All events are in Sutcliffe Baptist Church unless stated otherwise.
