Newton Blossomville School
It’s a new term at Newton Blossomville School and we are very proud of our new starters who look very smart in their new uniforms. We welcome Aurora, Pippa, Elodie, Beau, Ella, Laura and Isabella this term. All have settled in very well, have made friends, had lots of fun and agree that the hot dinners are delicious! The children
have started their topic, ‘Superheroes’, and have been learning about what makes them a super human, they have painted self- portraits and written labels and captions for these. Our value this term is ‘Friendship’ and the children have been talking about what makes a good friend, how to solve problems and make good choices. The children have signed up to a variety of afterschool clubs; multi-sports, maths detectives, tennis, creative writing and dance, all are proving very popular. This term we have a trip planned to a local forest for forest school activities, Macmillan coffee morning with cake on Friday September 30th and Harvest festival in St Nicholas church on Sunday 2nd October. Our open morning is Wednesday 12th October 9.30-11.30, do come along and see this very special school. If you are looking for a place for your child please phone the school of ce: 01234 881294
Olney Middle School
TCelebrating Roald Dahl
uesday 13th September 2016 would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, it was also the day of the Great Olney Water Cuts. Our Roald Dahl Day went ahead on Wednesday instead – we wondered what kind of tale of the unexpected Roald Dahl would have created from the situation, whilst the
Oompa Loompas tried to x things. Children and staff alike came to school in marvellous costumes from enormous BFG ears to Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket; from lovely Miss Honey to the Grand High Witch. It was a fantastic effort by the whole school. In the afternoon we all took part in the Puf n Live event in the Hall. This was an interactive webcast with Quentin Blake and Michael Rosen – full of Dahl-icious information and scrumdiddlyumptious fun. If you want to experience it for yourself, you can nd it on YouTube - http://youtu.be/ascDqFadSxs - or via the Puf n Live website.
