Sherington School
We are pleased to welcome 11 children into our Reception class this year. They have all quickly settled into life at Sherington CE School and their new friendships are blossoming. Our Reception class is now called the
Robins class which has turned out perfectly as we have a lovely Robin nesting in our outdoor area. Each morning, we take a few moments to sit quietly listening to “Mr Robin”, as the children have named him, and watch him busily y by our windows. In particular, the children have been delighted to hear him answering to the call of our RSPB toy Robin! Later this month, our Robins class have a treat in store with the return of local artist Pippa North who will spend the day with them creating art linked to their Cornerstones topic “Do you want to be friends?” Meanwhile our Owls (Years 1 & 2) kicked off their ‘Beachcombers’ topic with a trip to the National Sealife Centre. They enjoyed a wonderful guided tour looking at all sorts of sea life from anemones to sharks. They loved learning how to attract the stingrays (by rubbing their hands together to make static electricity) who duly came up to say hello!
If you are beginning to think about which school to send your child to

ur new children have settled into school well and are especially enjoying their hot lunches that are provided free under the Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) scheme! Our theme of “Do You Remember When...?” has
got us thinking about how people change as they grow and we have been comparing photos of ourselves as babies! We have also been creating our own Family Trees and talking to our local community about how Emberton village has changed over the years. We’ve been busy too in our allotment, harvesting our lovely crop of potatoes that started growing in the spring.
Are you concerned that your child will get ‘lost in the crowd’ at school? Does your child love to be learning outside with natural materials and enjoy cooking and gardening? Would you like an individual, tailor-made education for your child? We know that if you have a child who turns four before 31st August 2017 you will now be carefully thinking about which

IWe’re t and healthy!
t is of cial - the Children of North Crawley School are t and healthy! Our sports week started with an assembly where the children displayed the posters they had made about a sports activity they attend outside of school. These ranged from rock climbing to
dance. This was followed by a visit from ‘Dan the skipping man’, a yoga session, a dance display by the children for their parents, a brisk walk around North Crawley and a fantastic Sports Day with our friends at Stoke Goldington School. The highlight of the week was a visit to ‘Big Rock’ in Milton Keynes where we saw many of our school values of perseverance, friendship, kindness, team work, and trust in action.

Our February 2016 Ofsted report shows how impressed the inspector was with everything that we provide here in our small, rural school, and we would therefore like to invite you to our next Open Day on Thursday 20th October between 9.30am and 11am or you can pop in anytime and be assured of a warm welcome.
