Everybody needs help sometimes
the group and the book I felt strong enough to react to his behaviour in a way that protected me and ultimately, I believe, helped him to start turning his life around.”

David, who has lived in Milton Keynes since 1993 works alongside Jenny Duncombe, David Baker and Jane and Andy Thornton who offer the Parent and Family support work along with the 8 counsellors that work incredibly hard to deliver the counselling, support and education that it is so critical to many local individuals and families. “Drug abuse is a global issue that lives on our doorsteps and at some point children may be exposed to drugs in their school life” says David. This is why we want to work closely with a lot of the local schools to talk to them about their young people abusing drugs and to let them know there is help for their families to allay fears that parents might have and to help them talk to their sons/daughters although, they might not be using drugs. Prevention is better than cure”.
Eclipse needs local support. The UK Drug
Policy Commission stated that at least 1.5 million are affected by a relative’s drug use. A Drugscope/ICM poll found that one in ve people have direct or indirect experience of drug addiction. This is a hidden problem that can affect us all and without that support the work of Eclipse will not be possible in helping individuals and families who are suffering.
“If you are affected by a family member’s drug or alcohol problems and need support then please do not leave it hoping it will go away or sort itself out it might or more likely it will not”
You can purchase a copy of David Blyth’s book “A Parent’s Worst Nightmare” on Amazon or from the Eclipse of ce.
It is possible to support the charity through general volunteer work, nancial donations or long term nancial support.
On Friday April 22nd Eclipse will be hosting a fundraising dinner and auction at Eversholt Hall, Church End, Eversholt, MK17 9DU. The auction is a fantastic opportunity for local people and businesses to get involved and offer support. Tickets are £39.50 per person and for this you will be well fed with a 3 course meal, entertained by a brilliant magician and more importantly have the chance to meet new friends.
If you would like support or would like to know more about how you can help Eclipse then the team can be contacted on 01908 211 288 or email info@eclipse-addiction.org.uk
