‘Music - As You Like It’ Concert

This musical event will not only celebrate the birth & death of William Shakespeare 400 years ago, but also help to raise funds for Lathbury’s Church roof which needs the lead replacing after it was stolen last year. ‘Music - As You Like It’ will be a concert for all ages, featuring Quincidence, a talented wind quintet from The Royal College of Music, Cedars Primary School Choir, Diamond School of Performing Arts and MK Acapella. Pipe Organ Restoration Celebration

After 10 years of fundraising and eighteen months of restoration work, the ‘Father’ Willis pipe organ in Stony Stratfor’s St Mary and St Giles Church is nally ready to reveal its glories! A 10-week Restoration Celebration programme this spring will show off all aspects of the newly restored and enhanced pipe organ at the church. It will now play at concert pitch for the rst time, allowing choirs, orchestras and groups to perform works involving the organ. See dates below.

The OU Choir’s conductor, Bill Strang, has put together a distinctive programme which includes music by several composers associated with St George’s Church in Edinburgh, for which the organ was originally built.
