is to be placed on the Milton Keynes Council Community Asset Transfer (CAT) list. We have been working hard to obtain consensus as to the way forward and more ngers are being crossed so that the Townsfolk will own and manage this wonderful facility for the young people of the Town.
Due to Milton Keynes Council removing youth workers from April 2016, the Town Council has engaged a local specialist company to provide the Friday night club activities for 9-13 year-olds, which we funded previously. If the transfer is successful then we have a range of ideas to complement the existing users’ offer.
It’s good to note that our local football team – Newport Pagnell Town – are having a successful season after some rebuilding of the side They are sitting near the top of the United Counties league and this will give the whole squad and supporters real con dence to strive for promotion. Their xtures are on display at many shops around the town, so please support them when you can; even if you also go to Stadium:mk, where the MK Dons are currently near the bottom of the Championship and still giving away points; that must stop if they are to avoid relegation. At least it has been recognised that some of the rst team squad are not good enough for this league, where weaknesses are soon exposed. This point was demonstrated to all when Chelsea brought a £200-million-pound value Premier league side to the Stadium:mk for the Emirates FA Cup game. It was an exhibition match in front of a record crowd. MK was broadcast to 5 million plus homes and hopefully the cash will be spent on some players.
Here’s to an enjoyable Easter 2016.

the second largest town in the country, has no running water; pipelines are being laid but at a very, very slow pace. Electricity is very intermittent due to lack of maintenance at the power stations. Small clinics and hospitals did benefit from the support given by the international community during the Ebola crisis but the majority of that aid has now ceased. I could go on and on.
No, of course we as individuals cannot on our own solve the problems of the Third World. We can, however, do as much as we possibly can to help. Donations given to the Olney-Newton Link do get to the people who need it. When we have completed the Preschool/Daycare Centre there are a lot of other ways we can help. Please do support our Soup Lunch on March 4th or our Cheese and Wine Evening on April 30th. More details of these events and other ways you can support us are to be found on our website: olneynewtonlink.org.uk

The tractor and trailer, complete with lights, music and a special visit from the big man Father Christmas himself spread the Christmas cheer through the festive streets of Stoke Goldington. he rst of a new event for Olney, called Olney Open Gardens, will take place on Sunday 3rd July
2016.The intention of the event is to offer local people as well as visitors to Olney the opportunity to view some of the lovely gardens in the town and in doing so help raise money for two local charities, The Friends of Cobbs Garden Surgery and The Kitchener Centre. To date 14 local residents have registered to open their gardens to the public. Tea and home made cakes will be served in the Museum Gardens.
Given the popularity of garden-visiting, we anticipate that the event will be a major draw not just for local people but those living further a eld.
It is planned to make this a bi-annual event as similar ventures in nearby towns have proved very popular with visitors, as well as
