Teapots are .... Definitely open....
Teapots, the family run traditional tearoom at 31 The High Street in Olney, were taken over by Sue and David Morton a few months ago. Since then Sue says “We are really having a great time of it and are still open seven days a week. There seemed to be a bit of confusion recently as to whether we were going to carry on, I think someone got confused about things when we took over, but I can reassure everyone that we are alive and well and still pouring tea and offering breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with cakes and scones and we also specialize in home made food for anyone with a food intolerance including gluten free and dairy free products; plus we have a great service.” For reservations phone 01234 712392.

Newport Pagnell Lights
On Saturday 29th November the Christmas lights are switched on in Newport Pagnell high street, and the parish church of St Peter and St Paul is holding its annual Christmas fete. This year, stalls include homemade cakes, a human fruit machine, raffles, face painting, tombolas and many more. The church opens its doors from around 11am, and throughout the day, local school children will be coming in to sing Christmas songs. The day will culminate with carols from the choir after the lights in the high street are switched on. Why not come into the warm, and have a cup of tea, or something stronger and get into the Christmas spirit?
A French Connection’
Artist Penny Milner, a former pupil of Ousedale school Newport Pagnell, left England in 1988 to live and paint in the French countryside.
Over the last few years she has become a leading member of the French Pastel Society, teaching workshops for them in Paris and Limoges. She exhibits with the Galerie l’Echarpe in Toulouse and the Conoisseur Galerie in Paris. Her work is essentially figurative. Images are inspired by people and the scenes of daily life where the play of light and reflections dominate.
During the month of October Penny will be exhibiting 42 of her pastels and oils in the Jgallery, 25 West Street, Moulton, Northampton along with her friend, Brian Stainton. A woodturner and resident of Weston Underwood, Olney.
Brian has been turning for some 14 years, winning prizes in a number of national and international competitions. His personal work is currently focused on exploring the use of colour, texture and the addition of other materials to enhance turned wooden art objects.
The exhibition runs until 31st October 2014, open from Monday to Saturday, 9am-4pm. Tel: 01604 492191.
