Newport Pagnell Muster
The sixth Newport Muster was held on Saturday 13th September - and a great day was had by all. There were 273 walkers, many of whom were new to the event. The great weather
helped as people walked their way round the Gentle (Britain in Bloom /Cream Tea) Walk, the Family (Bury Field) Walk, the Town (Beer) Walk, the Country (nine mile) Walk and the Hearty (15 mile) Walk.
Of course, we could not have put on the event without help from our Sponsors, Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, local business in the town who advertised in the Souvenir Programme, the volunteer marshals, other volunteers helping with registration, the Brooklands centre, the Muster committee - and of course all the walkers who turned out to join in the Muster, walking for a cause - health, charity, fun.
Olney Churches Combined
A great day had by all
Harvest is an opportunity to stop and notice all the good things inlife–itiseasytofocuson the things that we don’t like,
and the more we look the more we notice, and that can cloud our vision to all that really is good. We have so much to thank God for - maybe the beautiful countryside surrounding our town, our families, friends or good neighbours. This is why Churches celebrate the Harvest Festival – we look and see that every good and perfect gift comes from God, and then thank Him for them.
Of course, life has its seasons and when we look around at the world we see huge changes and political unrest - but whatever our circumstances God can be trusted. We have God’s promise that day will always follow night, Spring will always follow Winter, and that after seed-time will always come a harvest – this can give us hope when life around us doesn’t seem so certain. Whatever season of life you are in, you can be grateful and full of hope because God knows about you, He cares about you, and He can be trusted.
This year all dried and tinned gifts will go to the MK Foodbank, to help local people without essential food, and money gifts will go to BMS worldwide and Operation Agri (a Christian run charity) who are running long term projects of farming education and support in Uganda and many other countries.
