Hey guys, how are you? IT'S THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS! WHOOOOOO! In case you haven't already guessed I'm extremely excited and very happy that it's finally summer. Do any of you have anything fun planned for your holiday? I'm going on a cruise! I know - how posh am I? I was really excited about it and then everyone started making jokes and teasing me about the Titanic. Thanks guys. This month I hope the sun stays shining for all your holidays and I hope all of you get a lovely tan (but don't go Essex!). Remember to tune in to my radio show on Secklow Sounds every Thursday from 6pm 'til 7pm. Bye for now Phoebe x
Last month I took part in Bedford Regatta. The sun was shining and it was a great
atmosphere; everyone came down to support each other. Some of the juniors were taking part in their first regatta: Anna, Clarrie, Ollie, Lee, Ellie, Lloyd along with the older ones: Luke, Liam, Adam, Tori and Chris & Ian in their coxed four. Tori raced in u a single and did incredibly well, Luke and Adam raced in a double in their retro kit because their new kit hadn't arrived they looked fabulous (not really). It was such a great day and all the hard work and training everyone had done paid off. For a first regatta we all did incredibly well. In my race I got quite a slow s t a rt, but I managed to start to catch up with her but towards the end I pushed too hard with my legs so
I came off my seat.
Although we have been trying to train hard it's been difficult because of the weeds
on the River. Every time I was doing well my oars got caught in the weeds and they E all got tangled and dragging and making it really hard to row. It doesn't help that it's very difficult to get them off without falling in! More about that next month - just to 0 keep you reading! Support for the Juniors from the Seniors has been great and very much appreciated. At the moment the club is lacking coaches and Seniors: if you know how to coach (Juniors & Seniors), or know someone that would be willing to z0 help out please send them along it would be a great help and it's such a fun way to
exercise. Take a look at the club at www.northamptonrc.org.uk
The Artist of the month is "Lawson". They are a British pop band with members Andy Brown, Ryan Fletcher, Joel Peat and Adam Pitts. At the moment they are currently based in London. Their debut album, Chapman Square, was released on 22 October 201 2 and reached number 4 in the UK Album Chart. Lawson came across their name when they were talking about what had been happening in their lives in the past six months. Andy told the group that he'd survived a brain tumour and his Dr. saved his life; his doctor's name was Dr. Lawson. They decided that the name just worked and it was memorable of a hard time but great triumph. They are my favourite band EVER: they write all their songs, produce their music and worked really hard to get into the music industry. They are absolutely fabulous and I can guarantee that you'll love them but maybe not as much as I do!
Did you know?
The lead singer Andy Brown dated Mollie King from The Saturdays, sadly they split up which was his inspiration for their first single "When She Was Mine".
This action thriller looks to have a lot to offer and promises to be very funny Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline R.I.P.D. as two cops dispatched by the other-worldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of souls who refuse to move peacefully to the other side. Arecently slain cop joins a team of un-dead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him. This film looks great and is filled with comedy and action. It's definitely one for everyone.
