Wow! What a great weekend we had at Olney in Flower in the United Reformed Church, Olney. Many of you will have seen the willow man and hare, inspired by William Cowper, as you passed the front lawn of the church. Next, was a display with produce and flowers, all grown in the museum gardens. Once inside you were met by the beautiful smell of flowers and a fantastic array of over 30 displays bursting with colour. All were created by local businesses and organisations to celebrate the community of Olney. As well as truly magnificent floral arrangements there were china pots, children's art, original artwork created for the event, flower houses, bread vases, mannequins, delicate lace flowers, wise owls, flowers made from food and hardware, even truncheons and handcuffs! Much fun was had searching for the church logo in the displays and much delicious cake was eaten. Many visitors commented on how hard it was to choose their favourite display, as all of them were so lovely, but the final vote was for the Singing for All choir. The church would like to thank everyone who came and supported us. Also, a big thank you to participants for putting so much effort and creativity in to their displays and for supporting and sharing with the community in this event.
