FETE
Castle Ashby Church Fete will be held on Sunday 2nd June 2013, opening at 12 noon. Along with all the usual stalls and games there is to be a hog roast, afternoon teas in the Orangery, Pimms, strawberries and cream, classic motorcycle and birds of prey. Among the attractions Royston, the children’s entertainer, will be performing puppet shows, and the Daventry Music Centre Brass Band will be playing throughout the afternoon. There will also be Karate demonstrations by Traditional Association of Shotokan Karate Clubs and their 8th Dan Chief Instructor John van Weenen.
Bring along your dog and take part in the Fun Dog Show; there will be classes for all sorts of dogs; and in-between you can walk them in the lovely surroundings of the arboretum. The entrance price of £2.50 an adult and £1.50 concession and children over 12 also allows you to enjoy the beautiful Italian Gardens and petting farm. Garden entrance is usually £5 -so it makes this is a great value afternoon for all the family
Cherry Fair
An early reminder for your diaries that Olney’s traditional Cherry Fair will take place on Saturday 29 June 2013. Demonstrations of Country Dancing and Karate Drama performance by David Pibworth’s group Dog Show Open Garden Games and Side Shows Tog ’o War Bouncy Castles Performance by Olney Brass Band Extensive choice of Refreshments, including Tea, Pimm’s and Barbecue Organ and Choral recitals in St Peter and St Paul’s Church and an opportunity to visit the Bell Tower and see the bells.
