Young Enterprise is a charity that gives young people the opportunity to create their own company and compete with others in a realistic way. Team lightning make the innovative product magic mats.
The budding entrepreneurs created a simple mission statement: “Our aim is to bring the family together, through games and riddles that you can use over and over again (and it doesn’t run out of battery!) Simple, old school entertainment for all ages”
Team Lightning’s product has developed over time, It began as having two types of mat the ‘monkey mat’ and the ‘multi mat’ but then they decided that it lead to confusion so they just kept the name ‘magic mats’ . There are currently 8 different designs and they are planning to incorporate lower school curriculums and selling to teachers and schools to widen the target market from their audience.
At the Enterprise Finals evening Team Lightning were the most successful company picking up four awards and getting a place in the county finals. They won runner up trade stand and report and won runner-up best company overall. They also won the new media award for a 15 second video that promotes their product and brand. Wish us luck in the County Finals on May 10th!
