A member of our staff is representing the UK in the World Skills - Floristry Final in July
An announcement was made in the House of Commons on 19th March confirming that Bluebell Flowers employee Chloe Woolf has been selected to represent the UK in the Worldskills competition to be held in Leipzig in July.
To gain the selection Chloe has undergone a rigorous process in which her exceptional talent has been thoroughly tested. The route to the final has involved many heats across the UK against some very determined and talented competition.
Chloe says ‘it has been a difficult few months but I am overjoyed that I have been lucky enough to beat so many excellent competitors. I am really proud to be representing my Country in the finals and will be doing my utmost to be awarded the winner’s medal’.
In her quest to be the very best, Chloe has travelled far and wide to enhance her
skills including a training session with world renowned Floral Designer Gregor Lersch. Brenda Gregory Bluebell Flowers owner says ‘we have always tried to encourage young people assisting schools and colleges with work experience and training. We are extremely proud of all our staff at Bluebell Flowers and Chloe’s achievements are a perfect example of what our young people are capable of with the right support and encouragement’, we will be supporting Chloe all the way.
The World Skills competitions are a fantastic way of encouraging and showcasing the often overlooked achievements of the dedicated and talented young people in skilled vocational trades. Around 1000 skilled young people (aged 18-25) will compete for medals in a host of skills including Bricklaying, Web Design, Cooking, Hairdressing and Landscape Gardening.
