Lavendon School
Pantomime visit
The whole school attended the Pantomime at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton. This year the Pantomime was Aladdin. Two coaches of very excited children (and staff!) left at lunchtime on December 15th to enjoy an afternoon of fun at the Derngate. Audience participation was expected – oh yes it was! An excellent time was had by everyone; we are very grateful to the LSA who support this outing financially.
Milton Keynes Schools Cross Country Event
The Milton Keynes Schools Cross Country heats took place on Saturday 5th November at Stantonbury Campus. We were delighted that runners from Lavendon School qualified for the finals which were held on Saturday 19th November. Each one of our runners gave their very best effort and we were really pleased with our position in the finals. Well done!
Multiskills festival
We were delighted to give the Year 2 children an opportunity to take part in a Multiskills festival in November. The children took part working through a number of activites set up in circuit style format. They had to work as a small team to gain as many points as possible doing things such as throwing and catching, agility running, balancing and many more. It was a chance for them to experience an element of competition with other schools. The children performed well and put into practice the skills they have been acquiring through their PE lessons at school.
Class 1 and 2 visit Campbell Park
Class 1 and 2 enjoyed their trip to Campbell Park where they took part in a ‘Crafty Christmas’ session. They collected natural items around the park such as fallen leaves and pine cones and used them to make Christmas decorations and calendars with the help of some glitter!
Christmas Celebration
This year our Christmas Celebration was held in St Michael’s Church. Class 1 and
Class 2 entertained us with a traditional Nativity play. Class 3 performed ‘Every Christmas’ on percussion instruments, while Class 4 sang ‘Do you Hear What I Hear’ with Makaton signing. Children from class 2, 3, and 4 also played piano and clarinet medleys. Favourite Carols were sung by the school as well as the parents and friends.
