THE OLnEy PRE-SCHOOL Spring Fun Day on April 1st at the Carlton Club was a huge success. The Fundraising Team had organised a Soft Play area, Easter arts and crafts table and a face painter - thank you to Hannah De Main for her lovely face paintings.
Lots of Pre-School children showed up with their siblings to join in with the fun. As a nice side-effect £120.00 was raised for the Olney Pre-School.
Thank you to the Fundraising Team for organising this great event.
Spring Cleaning
Spring cleaning and as every year, It's time to unclutter - have a clear. Start with the attic, just crammed with stuff,
It's all got to go... we've had enough!
The speak and spell, with American voice...(COLOUR...COLOR!)
The cabbage patch doll, such an ugly choice.
The vinyl 45's of our happy youth, In a tiny box, Emma's first tooth!
The Porta Potty from I know not where, Is it loaded....? do have a care!
The model planes I made with our son, Some unfinished, some never begun. The Lego digger in a million bits,
The box of cassettes with a thousand hits.
The Dragon, the ‘Beeb, with bugs galore, The Sinclair Spectrum - thousands more!
The BIG TRAK TRUK, With a mind of it’s own, And from after the War, A G.P.O. telephone.
Mouldering in the loft above our head The Dickens books we've never read,
The brewing barrels, oh! those were the days,
The beer brewed within, we called 'Stupor' or 'Haze'!
My school reports, (they should have been burned),
The teachers curt comments?.... More should have been learned!
The bridal gown, quite faded now, Iris sighing, it’ll fit again someday,...somehow!
But hold it there, these are our past,
And although it's a lot... they ain't that vast.
So many memories have been invoked today.
The past feels so safe, we cannot just throw it away.
They are doing no harm in the attic stored...
We'll leave them here,...till next year...when we’re bored !

CARE SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED
Have you got a caring side to assist the elderly and disabled in their own homes? We need a care support worker to join us to work in Olney and surrounding villages. Must be able to work alternative weekends, and some evenings. Use of car and mobile phone essential. Experience preferred but not essential as training will be given. CRB checks will be carried out.
