OLNEY CAMERA CLUB
THE DIGITAL IMAGES competition proved to be a challenge for club members this month. Despite the technical difficulties, however, 78 images were submitted in three categories, e.g. Motion, Open and Bugs. Ben Page swept the Board winning all three categories and also took the Image of the Evening award with his lovely picture entitled “In formation”.
Seven members travelled to the Lake District for the club’s annual trip and were again very fortunate to have four lovely sunny days. Staying in a cottage near Bassenthwaite there were lots of photo opportunities right on the doorstep.
With the dark evenings now upon us the evening walkouts are now finished.
For details of the club’s programme visit our website www.olneycameraclub.co.uk or contact Colin Gadsby on 01234 711055. New members are always welcome.

A slice of local history
THE NEWPORT PAGNELL Partnership held a Coffee Evening to launch their new project. To produce a DVD recording the memories of ex-Aston Martin employees who worked on the manufacture of these cars in Newport Pagnell. Forty nine people attended, most agreeing to be interviewed, and another 30 sent their apologies but expressed an interest in being involved.
This work has been assisted by funding from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation and aims to record not just the manufacture of motor cars but the impact that Aston Martin had on
the working lives of families in Newport pagnell over a period of 50 years.
The first 10 interviews will be recorded in late October and others will follow in November.
The support of Aston Martin and the Aston Martin Heritage Trust has been most encouraging and the grant from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation has allowed this work to begin immediately.
