Superfast Broadband for Olney?
Olney is not on the current list of exchanges to be enabled for Superfast Broadband but BT are running this ‘competition’ whereby the five communities which get the highest % of votes before the end of the year get enabled.
All you have to do is go to the following website address and vote with your postcode. http://www.racetoinfinity.bt.com/
Tell your friends... and anyone else you might think will be interested.... We don’t want to get left behind in the Superfast Broadband race....

This ConDem government has unleashed the most savage attack upon the less well off and vulnerable people since the establishment of the welfare state. Literally hundreds of thousands now face loosing their jobs or having benefits cut. These cuts are not some abstract thing that will happen to nameless people living in other parts of the country. When they start to bite they will be felt even here in Olney.
The regressive budget and spending review comes from the most unrepresentative, elitist government since the 1930’s. Drawn from the narrow segment of society that is old money, and privilege. Educated in the most expensive public schools, 18 out of 23 cabinet ministers are millionaires!
The people who will now suffer, didn’t trade in dodgy subprime mortgages, receive huge fraudulent bonus’s, they weren’t responsible for pushing the international banking system to the brink of collapse. Instigating the largest publically funded bail-out in history.
In the words of the old song “it’s the rich what gets the pleasure and the poor what gets the blame”.
What really sticks in the craw is the truly shameful role played by the Lib Dems. Who even now are trying to camouflage reality and present these measures as somehow “progressive”.
Fib Dems can go along with it because they lack any tradition of power. No shared philosophy, common belief or value system, just “all things to all people”. The ideological vacuum filled by ego, opportunism and spin. Hence the ease of which Fib Dem snouts can slip into the Tory trough.
