Come to the farm to find your perfect Christmas tree
STOKE GOLDINGTON CHRISTMAS Trees is looking forward to another busy season with the farm open once again for ‘pick your own’ tree sales – come to the farm, pop on your wellies and wander through the plantation with a glass of mulled wine in hand until you find your perfect tree!
This year the open weekends start on November 27th & 28th, then 4th & 5th December, 11th & 12th December and 18th & 19th December, open from 10am to 4pm each day. You will find traditional Norway Spruce with that wonderful pine aroma along with the popular and beautiful non-needledrop Nordmann Fir. There is something for every space in the home, a compact little 2-foot Spruce for a child’s bedroom or a show-stopping 10-foot fir fit for a grand hallway feature.
In addition to gorgeous rustic handmade wreaths for sale, there will also be holly, mantelpiece swags, logs for the fire and a small selection of seasonal gifts like sloe gin!
* Visit the website www.stokegoldingtonchristmastrees.co.uk for more info. The farm is well signposted from the main B526 Newport Pagnell- Northampton road, just outside the village of Stoke Goldington (postcode MK16 8LW). Phone Chris & Jenny Letts 01908 551903.
Lavendon WI
The September meeting welcomed Mr. Rowley from the driving standard agency, everyone found him entertaining and he gave some good tips for the older driver.
At the end of September some of our members went along to the autumn group meeting which was held at Newton Blossomville. We heard news from each of the W.I's about what they had been doing over the past six months. The speaker was Mr. Barrie Mason talking about his trip to the Brazilian Panatal and showing some photographs of the birds and animals he had gone to find. We had a competition and the subject was an autumn flower arangement and Lavendon won.
Members arriving for the October meeting found our speaker Mrs. Brown setting out her display of hats of all shapes and sizes. Later she talked to us about how she came to take up hat making and showed the tools and materials she used.
Next month we will be entertained by Mr. Spiller with music charts 1952-2009. Members have been asked to bring along memorablia from the 50-80's or earlier, we are hoping to find one or two mini skirts!! Competion letter is F.
Guests are welcome at a small charge of £2.50 and for further information please ring 01234 267939.
