“Football - the ultimate frontier; to go where none has gone before (or since 1966, actually)...” (Quote, circa 2010)
Some may say football doesn’t make a difference as our hopes in the World Cup came to an abrupt end on Sunday.
The performance England put in was perhaps in need of some help ... andherewehave, onourvery own doorstep, Emberton Athletic Football Club turning in performances that would make the national side blush. Would they possibly consider helping out in the future . .?
Read all about their successes on page 16 and try and put the other day out of your mind!
The elections have also passed, with a similar type of result, and our MPs, new and old, have returned to the fold, their task, let us hope, will be more successful than the South African one.
Anyway, football can and does make a difference, see page 78 for more details of that!
