Our club is holding its annual Come and Try It Day on June 12, 2010.
This event invites members of the public to come and try our sport of dinghy sailing. We offer a free taster session with experienced helms and established members of the club, volunteering their time and boats to encourage more people to take up this excellent sport. Obviously we would like to increase our membership, but we also aim to promote the sport to members of the public who think that they may like to take it up either now or in the future.
This year we hope to hold a Table Top Sale within the clubhouse for members to sell unwanted small items and possibly sailing related items. Due to club dinghy assessments and housekeeping we may also have a small selection of surplus dinghies for sale.
The days activities start at 11am and usually finish around 4-5pm. There are burgers etc available from the club kitchen during the day. Tea and coffee is also available.
Members of the public will be required to sign a club waiver for insurance purposes when going onto the water, parents and guardians will of course be required to sign for under 18s.
The club is open to members 365 days a year with racing arranged on Sundays and Wednesday evenings during the summer, we have a heated clubhouse with kitchen and bar, we arrange social activities throughout the year and hope to be able to offer sailing courses soon.
