4th Court News
Our application to the LTA for funding support has been reviewed by their Tennis Projects Committee and been recommended. We are now waiting for their Finance Committee to propose what they will and give and lend us. We have also applied to other bodies for support. See the latest news on our website.

Club Sessions
Tuesday Night sessions are back running so come along from 6.45pm to play tennis with whoever is there. The other sessions are on Wednesday mornings and Sunday afternoons.
Coaching
Turn to tennis by signing up for coaching. Nigel Willard, Olney’s Head Pro, offers a complete programme from 3 year old to adults. The young ones start at mini red, service box tennis, before moving into full court tennis. Yellow ball tennis starts at 10 years of age. Adults of any standard take note too - by taking a course each week you’ll soon be hooked by this fun and sociable sport that is good for fitness too!

Junior News
There have been some excellent results from our talented Juniors. The U15A beat Stony
Stratford comprehensively thanks to Ben Cross, Henry Clarke and Tom Field and the U12B beat Milton Keynes Aces 6-0 through great performances by Oliver Parker, Patrick
McGivern and Henry Yeomans (See photo left). Also, Our U15A team had a cup
match with Wolverton, Charlie Bootman, James Jermyn and Jack Cheal lost just 5 games in 12 sets to beat Wolverton and set up a tie with
Stony
Stratford (See
photo right).
Our U15B
team had the
long journey
to Silvertsone
where they
drew 3-3.
Emily Myrtle,
Alice Barr and
Joseph
Williams played in that one. Our 16A team lost 2-1 to Haddenham with Matt Shacklock and Tom Field just losing a doubles match and our U16B team of Xavier Vale Buisson and Ali Bradford had a comprehensive win against Aylesbury.
Adult Teams
The A teams have had a great start. The Mens A who are aiming for promotion after just missing out last summer first beat Winslow 5-1 in a rain affected match with Gun Chui Hwang, Chris Wright, Simon Barter and Gavin Fowell. They then beat Vagabonds 5-3 on another rainy evening despite the opponents having an England ranked Junior. Jacob Petrou took the place of Simon for this match.
The Ladies A started their campaign with a 8-0 thrashing of Great Linford thanks to Katie Bennett, Eleanor Carter, Debbie King and Anne Foulkes.
The Mixed also started with a 8-0 win against Great Linford with the team being Gavin Fowell, Gun Chui Hwang, Eleanor Carter and Anne Foulkes.
The Mens Bucks team started with a good 8- 1 beating of Chesham Bois thanks to Nigel Willard, Jacob Petrou, Simon Barter, Gun
Chui Hwang, Chris Wright and Phil Bennett (See photo above). Not such good luck however with our other teams who lost their first matches despite good efforts.
Social News – The Ceroc Night – it’s back!
After a break of a few years we are delighted to advise that the highly popular Ceroc Night will be run again on Saturday 17 July at the Olney Carlton House Club at 7.30pm.
A band of dancers will show us all how to rock and roll across the dance floor in no time. Tickets are £15 including supper. Book now on 01234 241889.
American Tournament
The next event will be held on Sunday 4 July at 10am to allow all to watch the Mens Wimbledon Final. All are welcome to take part so put your name down at the clubhouse or call Lynda on 01234 713312.
