WELL DONE LAVENDON ROYAL BRITISH LEGION!!
At a recent Members’ Social Evening at Lavendon Village Hall, the Buckinghamshire County Vice Chairman of the Royal British Legion, Mike Barry, presented the Poppy Appeal Organiser, Rod Moore, with the Sir John & Lady Hall Trophy.
This is awarded to the branch which has the greatest annual percentage increase in Poppy sales in the County. It is the second time Lavendon have won it in the last three years and is a tremendous achievement for a such a small branch.
Many thanks to everyone who put in so much work selling poppies both in the village and in Central Milton Keynes.
POPPY APPEAL ORGANISER NEEDED
Our Poppy Appeal Organiser for many years is retiring from the job at the end of this year’s appeal (30 September 2010). Is there anyone who would be willing to take on this important role? It would mean working with Rod for the next few months so you would be ready for the Poppy Selling in October/November.

It’s that time of year again – the best day out in June.
The Church of St Peter & St Paul Olney are holding their annual Cherry Fair in The Glebe, Church Street
Gates open at 1.00pm and The Fair will be officially opened by the Mayor of Olney, Cllr Mike Hughes at 1.15 pm.
At 12.45 pm the Men’s Pancake Race will take place in Church Street and a Fancy Dress Parade will leave The Market Place
Olney Brass Band, Competitions, Demonstrations of Country Dancing, Olney T.A.S.K Karate & Self-Defence Demonstration, Novelty Dog Show, Extensive choice of refreshments including a BBQ provided by Olney Co-op, Games & Side Shows, Tug of War, Organ and Choral Recitals in St Peter & Paul’s Church and a further opportunity to visit the Bell Tower to view our beautiful new and restored bells
