Dear Freda
I hope you recognize the attached photograph of your wedding day in the early seventies.
Several of the boys from your Cowper’s Oak football team are on it, but most of us mainly played rugby. Everybody on the photo is alive and well (except Arthur Mead who died several years ago).
We all send you our love and best wishes for the future and would like to tell you the Cowper’s Oak has never been the same since you left!

Freda said she would be very happy to hear from her old friends and gave me permission to send her address to you (available from Orchard Press).
Freda tells me that her time at the Cowpers Oak was the happiest time of her life. I am 92 and my only contact with her is by telephone and because I have my PC and able to contact anybody she turns to me for help.
The brilliant photograph you sent me of the Cowpers Oak I have now printed on glossy, A4 size and when my sister arrives here for Christmas with me she will deliver my cards to all my neighbours including Freda and that special picture and my special thanks to you and Yvonne for your kindness.

My name is Clive Graves, I remember Freda (page 36, December Phonebox) she was a fantastic landlady, my father never stops going on about the days when Freda was landlady. I was in the tug- o-war team that tied the rope around the lamp post. My parents and I would like to send our best wishes to Freda.
