Brian & Co want to see Newport Pagnell light up with a Bang
Mark Stevenson
No doubt the majority of kids will have Halloween in the back of their minds by now and Iʼm sure that most will have conjured up a plan to gain as much confectionary as they can anytime soon. This month we have a Halloween competition (for the kids, grownups) so thereʼs a chance for them to collect even more treats.
For the chance to win a prize, simply send in the best photos of your ʻlittle monstersʼ (Iʼm referring to the kids by the way) and we will decide whoʼs the best dressed.
Send in your trick or treat photos and we will reward the following
Community spirit Brian from Big Fun with Brian is campaigning for a return of the fireworks show to Newport Pagnell. Iʼm reliably informed that a fireworks party used to be held at Riverside Meadows every year (when it wasnʼt flooded). Brian wants to hear the town of Newport Pagnell cry out harmoniously with a series of Ahhhhh, oooooh, ahhhhhh, oooooooohs (he means the fireworks people!) In order to do this he needs numbers to join the petition.
Brian is as keen as ever to raise the community spirit and make sure the people of the town have as much fun as possible. If you go to the facebook page group thatʼs been set up youʼll find the following blurb:
Join this group and we will either get the council to pay for it, or if they don't want to I'll set up a donations website where everyone can chip in a quid or two (we might have to do it on private land then).
Fireworks, Guy competition, a bloody great big fire to sit round and roast your nuts/marshmallows, fire performers, Chinese lanterns, hog roast.... maybe some music? who could say no!
INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!
Last time I checked the total who have joined so far was up to 1004 members including myself - If youʼre from or nearby to Newport
Pagnell please go and join up. BIG KNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS 2009 Oct 31st @ The Cannon Fancy dress Halloween gig
If you fancy getting dressed up in your spooky gear, having a few drinks and getting down to good music then look no further than ʻBig Knobs and Broomsticksʼ. Organised by ... you guessed it, that man Brian. This Halloween at the Cannon in Newport Pagnell looks set to be a cracker again and having missed last years, Iʼm intent on making an appearance this time round. We featured the event last year in one of the first Buzz features. No doubt theyʼll be some photos in the November edition too.
