Cobbs Garden Surgery, Olney
Olney is a growing town. New families are moving in and even established families need updating on the changing facilities and procedures of the practice. The following are the most commonly asked questions at the practice and will hopefully provide some basic information where needed.
Who are the doctors and what are their special interests?
Dr David Bartlett, dermatology; Dr Brian Partridge, minor surgery; Dr Jayne Adams, diabetes mellitus; Dr Jonathan Walter, respiratory medicine and paediatrics; Dr Maggie Winter, minor surgery.
What other clinical staff are based at the practice and what are their special interests?
There are three practice nurses: Mrs Judith Burr, travel vaccinations and coronary heart disease; Mrs Liz Bartlett, diabetes and leg ulcers; Mrs Alison Partridge, asthma and COPD; Lynn James, health care assistant, smoking cessation.
Are there any other medical specialists based at Cobbs Garden Surgery?
Sister Carol Duncombe is a skilled midwife who provides care throughout pregnancy and the post-natal period (contact 01908 660033 ext 3457). There is a district nursing team who can maintain your needs whilst at home (contact 01234 713911) and a health visitors team who offer specialist advice on health and welfare to all age groups (contact 01234 713911). There is also a specialist nurse for the elderly (contact 0844 477 8612).
How do I make contact with my Doctor?
By phone: Many problems can be simply solved by speaking to the doctor on the phone. Please telephone before 12 noon. Your phone number will be taken and the doctor will aim to ring you back within a reasonable time.
By making an appointment: There are two types of appointment – if you want a planned appointment with your usual doctor, one will be arranged as soon as one is available. If you need to see a doctor the same day, you will be given an appointment with the duty doctor, or if available, your own doctor.
By a doctor’s visit: If you are immobile, a visit can be arranged by phoning the surgery 0844 477 8612.
How can I get a repeat prescription?
Use the counterfoil of your previous prescription and put your request in either of the boxes at the surgery or at Cox & Robinson, chemist, Market Place, Olney. Fax to the surgery on 0234 711883 or fax Cox & Robinson on 01234 241541. Email by visiting www.cobbsgardensurgery.gpsurgery.net
If you have any other queries, contact the surgery on 0844 477 8612. The practice manager, Andy Swords, welcomes feedback from patients, please contact her with any comments or suggestions.
