I was astonished to read in your July edition, Valerie Menzies defense of the indefensible. Ms Menzies writes “it is good to have different points of view and real facts put before the public in the Olney area” I completely agree but then she goes on to say “it would be naive to think that all political parties are pure in their leaflets” I’m sorry Ms Menzies but naïve or not I object to half truths and spin presented as “real facts”.
Finally, I can't quite understand if Ms Menzies conspiracy includes me with the “obvious Tories” she sites “attacking” the Lib Dems.
Let me assure her that I do agree with Richard Wilson (Victor Meldrew) and think that life for most people is fairer under Labour. So I will be voting Labour again at the next election.

I’d like to pen a few words in response to the person who wrote to Steve Clark about Tesco at the old Aston Martin site in Newport Pagnell.
I note the person’s comments but would say that I much prefer Newport, always shop there. Just find a space in one of the car parks – there usually is one.
I have been here three years now, but moving back to where I come from, but I’ve never had a problem with Newport – and do not think much of the objections raised.
Newport’s great as it is – much prefer it to anywhere else, while I’m here.
