over £6000 in just one week for Save the Children and Willen Hospice. I will even be helping to raise money for breast cancer research, alongside my team mates at work in October. Yes, as young people in a country with a greater economy (despite current recession fears) we are luckier and thus would be fools to not take advantage of this and try and make something of our lives.
I do not believe that my letter to a local magazine will change the ignorant and intolerant minds of people like Mr Waller, but I can hope that Mr Waller will learn that not all teenagers are the same and most of us are bright, kind, intelligent people who do not need to ‘learn our place’ but already know it: as productive members of our community. Perhaps he will realise that he was once a member of the ‘youth’ catergory which he so despises.
