Tony Goldney from Newport Pagnell is Formu
Newport Pagnell has a new world champion in the shape of Tony Goldney, who works for Red Bull Technology F1 team.
Tony has just returned from Sweden where he competed in his seventh World Hovercraft Championships in his Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle engined hovercraft.
The first practice sessions didn`t go well with Tony struggling for control on the fast water straight with speeds of up to 85mph, however, with some major changes to the skirts this saw improvements and he achieved 2nd in the time trials for his grid position, 0.3secs behind a Belgium driver and 0.4secs in front of a Swedish driver.
There were six, seven lap first race started badly wi the first lap, with the Belg and a Dutch driver in sec managed to pass both th first race, which gave him second race.
