Patricia June (Pat) Slaney Clerk to the Town Council
Pat died on Thursday 28th August 2008 aged 60 years, after a long illness borne bravely. Pat was Clerk to the Council for
nearly five years. Although suffering from cancer she carried out her duties to the full.
A memorial service was held on Monday 8th September at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Olney. A large congregation of 250 people attended to celebrate and remember Pat’s life. the service was conducted by the Rev. Thelma Shacklady, who with Pat’s brother paid tribute to Pat’s courage and her love of humanity and animals and fine service to the town. The service was followed by committal at the Green Burial Site and a reception at The Olney Centre.
Pat will be sadly missed by the members of Olney Town Council.
