Jeeves and Wooster to come to Olney!
Continuing their fund-raising for the Museum the Friends have arranged an evening with Jeeves and Wooster on Friday 10th October at The Olney Centre, starting at 7.30pm. All are welcome.
Professor William Prescott, who has a long-standing affection for the work of PG Wodehouse, widely admired as one of England’s greatest comic writers, will be giving a talk, entitled ‘Jeeves, Wooster and Co. – the humour of PG Wodehouse’, in which he will be examining Wodehouse’s life and the world he created – the world of Jeeves, Bertie Wooster and Lord Emsworth.
Professor Prescott studied history at Oxford, followed by postgraduate work in linguistics. He has contributed to many courses at the Open University, where he was director of the Postgraduate Programme in Education and Professor of Educational Development.
Tickets priced at £8 per person, to include wine, are on sale at the Museum or can be reserved by ringing the Museum on 01234 711516, Pat on 01234 241966 or June on 01234 881424.
Despite the poor weather, Friends raised in excess of £400 at their summer garden coffee mornings in aid of the Olney Bells Appeal.

We raised a total of over £1,300 which will be used to provide additional comforts for the residents of Paganell Grange. We would also like to thank the local businesses who, despite difficult trading conditions, were once again very generous in donating cash and prizes.
Our next event will be a Race Night which will be held on Saturday 1st November at Paganell Grange Nursing Home in Westbury lane, Newport Pagnell – tickets £6 including refreshments. Please contact Jan Haynes on 01908 610905 for details and tickets.
Other dates for your diary are our Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 6th December and our Cheese and Wine Evening on Saturday 13th December. K
