Newport Pagnell Coffee Shop must be congratulated on this year’s donation of £6000 to Willen Hospice from the sale of their tea, coffee and cakes. For the past several years they have been
raising money consistently for Willen, keep up the good work!
One of our readers, and probably a few others as well, did not manage to get the same service from the cafe in MKC’s Emberton Park facility recently. His letter on page seven points out the £3.50 charge on entry and the facilities, or lack of them on that day, that were supposed to be on offer.
Visitors on such a day may have a poor view of their outlay, and decide in future to use many of the other local parks in the area that do not charge!
Or with the difficult trading conditions expected perhaps a congestion charge for traffic passing through the town, with free entry into the park or a refund if you shop in the town is the answer? (This could be extended to all towns in the area.) Hands up all those who wish to man the toll booths!
