Bring on the bling!
Sparkle, shine and glitter are the key words for women’s luxury sunglasses this year. Many models are inlaid with faceted precious stones, diamante, and real Swarowski crystal, all being used to inject some life into frames which will shine in the sun – or on the red carpet! While the ‘bling’ trend is not new, it has evolved this year with more elaborate designs and the stones imaginatively inlaid into the frame materials. Also keep a look out for glitter embedded in the frame material, to give a flattering, subtle shimmer.
The colours of summer
Black, tortoise shell and gold are the classic, elegant colours, but there are some more dramatic shades available this year. New collections have showcased red, purple, white, and some pretty pastel tones too.

There are some stunning details in the new collections, guaranteed to make you stand out in the crowd! Roberto Cavalli is a master at this, with his famous snake motif winding its sultry way round some stunning pieces. Fendi are using buckles and leather trims to echo their couture clothing lines, Gucci and Dior are featuring Art Deco details and miniature buckles.
Big is beautiful!
The bigger the better is still the look this season. Celebrity style is always a good indicator of what’s hot, so it’s always worth flicking through magazines to see what they’re wearing this year. Oversized is still the key word, but there are alternatives for those of you with petite faces. Vintage shapes are creeping back this year, such as upswept styles or cats eyes.
