Olney Bowls Club
The club held its annual dinner/dance and presentation ceremony at Olney Working Mens' Club on Saturday 10th November. It was very well attended by members and their guests and was voted a most successful event. Compliments were passed about the food and the ‘included’ wine was highly regarded.
Our guests of honour were Mr Mick Cabill, the Bucks County President and his charming wife. They presented the prizes and it was all very osculatory as Mr Cabill dealt only with the ladies prizes and Mrs. Cabill with the gents. This added extra enjoyment to this part of the celebrations! In his speech Mr Cabill congratulated our green keepers on the quality of our green.
The dancing started rather slowly and shyly, as most dances do, but once the wine was fully ‘included’ the temp was raised and so was the roof!!
It was a most enjoyable evening. Club president John Smail reminded members that the AGM will be held in the club house on Sunday 25th November at 10.30am – a very important occasion. q

Can you circulate this around especially as Christmas is fast approaching – it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.
