OLNEY RUGBY CLUB’S SEVENS TOURNAMENT
Fantastic sunshine accompanied this new event in the Club’s Calendar, according to Cath Hardwick on the day the event was totally over subscribed with six teams on a reserve list to attend. For the uninitiated, as I was, Rugby Sevens is a much faster moving game than the full blown version and much fun to watch. Support from Club members and families was much in evidence in the shape of refreshment tents and the smooth running of the event. A big pat on the back must go to all who organised and all who participated in a great afternoon.
SAD NEWS
The family, friends and employees of Terrence ‘Tip’ Barnes have recently had to come to terms with his passing. Tip died very suddenly following an operation, which has left all completely stunned as he overcame a heart bypass operation last year, completing a Charity bike ride earlier this year in aid of The British Heart
Foundation. Tip was a fit man and despite retiring recently was still frequently to be found suited and at work at Howard and Mason, a business he had come to own over the years. Tip will have been in contact with many members of our community as his company have crafted the wooden parts
of many local
buildings and

works too, he
was held in high esteem by many. My thoughts and condolences are with all those close to Tip, to his children Ian and Davina and their families and to his working family. Donations in memory of Tip are being divided between The John Radcliffe Hospital and The British Heart Foundation, so if you feel you would like to make a donation it can be made payable and sent to H.W.Mason and Sons, 9 High Street, Newport Pagnell, Bucks MK16 8AR.
