The code covers the relationship between retailer and consumer for all wall to wall carpet sold to residential consumers (rugs are excluded)
The code can only be used by Carpet Foundation Registered Specialist Retailers - no other retailers can sign up to the code.

Stage Three: the complaint can be referred to an Independent Arbitration Service provided by The British Carpet Technical Centre an organization that specializes in dealing with consumer complaints on carpets.
This service costs £110 (+VAT) shared equally by the customer and the Registered Specialist and may involvea site visit, product tests, and a specialist report. A written report is provided on the arbiters findings. Anyaward made under Arbitration will be binding.
