Newport Pagnell A Vs Wolverton Tigermoths
U16 Football Final, 7/5/06. The National Hockey Stadium
On Sunday 7th May, Newport Pagnell A U16 kicked off against Wolverton Tigermoths U16 at the Milton Keynes Hockey Stadium for the cup final. Newport had a good start and dominated the first half with Drew Mitten opening the scoring just before half time with a perfectly placed lob. Unfortunately Newport were then reduced to 10 men with a player shown the red card. The second half saw Newport still on the attack with Tigermoths breaking through as well. Dean Catlow equalised for Tigermoths with a superb header late into the second half. The game went to extra time with 10 minutes being played each way. The quite filled stand began to liven up the atmosphere and half way through the first half of aet Sam Folland scored a stunning goal to put Newport ahead again. Unfortunately Tigermoths were unable to comeback as the balls to strikers McKenzie and Clarkson were not being played. Newport lifted the trophy as cup champions for U16. Congratulations!
