It is interesting to examine some of the developments that have occurred elsewhere in the UK. One of the largest and most powerful inshore wind farms in the UK is that at Bears Down, near Padstow in Cornwall. The site of this wind farm is split between two local authorities, with nine turbines being located in North Cornwall District and the remaining seven in Restormel. National Wind Power submitted two simultaneous planning applications in August 1998. Restormel Borough Council initi ly refued permission for their part of the site in November 1999.
