Following their recent OFSTED inspection, the Headteacher, Mrs Elsa Steel and her sta were delighted to receive the final report which sings their praises highly indeed. The school was highly commended as a very effective school and, most unusually,therewerenosignificantareas for improvement. During their meeting with parents the inspection team were overwhelmed by the unanimous, "Emberton First is a very e ctive school where standards are high and pupils achieve very well" teachers, employed to teach PE, writing, art and music was applauded, with the very high standards in writing being describedasexcellent.Inparticularthe inspection team pinpointed the use of interactive whiteboards across the I.C.T in Milton Keynes. The enriched, creative curriculum as a whole impressed the team. Finally the levels of achievement of the pupils were scrutinised and the report concludes that, based on the national tests in year two, the school is nowperforminginthehighest5%ofall schools nationally. It is very well deserved and reflects the huge efforts of the staff and the support of the governors and parents. This small village school, situated near the centre of the village, has thriving links with the community and there is a real warmth and 'homely' feel about it. Emberton parents concerning the high standards of attainment across the curriculum, very good leadership and caring ethos of the school. The inspectors themselves looked rather taken aback when one parent stated categorically that she would 'not have a word said against the school'!
