Bream Sands Tour 2005 Olney vs. Old Elthamians : Lost Olney's first game was very tight against a side which had a very big and strong squad, Old Elchamians. Ac first Olney where doing well, tackling and gaining good distance. Olney pushed the Elrhamians defence co their 5 meter line. Finally after crying co gee the ball over their line Cameron Byrne broke through the defence, making the score 5-0 co Olney. Edward breeze was co cake the kick but unfortunately it fell just short. Soon after Olney scored, they became coo confident and Old Elrhamians scored in the far corner. 5 - 5 . Their centre missed the kick so it was now a tied draw.In the second half Old Elthamians scored within 5 minutes , 1 0-5 was now the score.A missed conversion cook che final score 10-5. Olney vs. Tondu : Lost In the second game Olney were not concentrating enough. Tondu were not the best side in the tournament so Cameron Byrne was able co make a powerful run through their defence to score under che posts. 5-0. Mikey Farquar had an easy kick in front ofthe posts and settled the score at 7-0. One cry came from a st Tondu player who ran around Olney's defence. 7-5. An unsuccessful kick le the score 7-5 to Olney. After half time Tondu came back and scored again. 1 0-7 being the final score. Olney vs. Newton Abbot : Win A er a team talk before this game, Olney where cused from the start. An early cry came form Cameron Byrne under the posts 5-0. A successful conversion then came from the number 1 0, Edward breeze 7-0. Ac one point Newton Abbott were inside Olney's 22 meter line crying co break through. But Olney where not going co let them. Their defence was solid. Another try soon came from Joe Dorgham. 12-0. Because this kick was coo far out Edward Breeze just got it short. 1 2-0 . Near the end of the game Matt Woodhouse chipped the ball through and chased it down. It bounced perfectlyforhimandafteroutrunningtheir full back he dived for the line. 1 7-0. Olney vs. Lich eld : Win Olney had one of their best performances against a strong side Lichfield. A cry came from Cameron Byrne, (number 8) under the poses, which was followed with an easy conversion for Mikey Farquar 7-0. Olney had the lead. One of Olney's best cries of the tournament came from Gavin Whitehead. The ball got passed alone the line forcing che players co run back and chase but Olney had an over lap and Gavin slammed the ball down over the line 12-0. Unfortunately Olney's fly half Mikey farquar missed the kick Olney where leading at half time. Every Olney player wanted this game so much. After half time one of the Lichfield players scored and they kicked it over for the conversion . 1 2-7 When the final whistle Olney where delighted by the way they had lead. 14-7. Cameron Byrne then made a powerful run up the wing crashing through Waterloo's defence he slammed the ball down over the line. 19-7 Edward Breeze skimmed the poses co the le . Olney's centre Joe Dorgham then punished Waterloo one final time increasing Olney's lead co 24-7 with yet another try. He then missed the conversion, the final score being 24-7. The final whistle went, Olney had a shoe of bringing home the bowl! Olney vs. Lincoln - B owl Final lost After putting so much effort into their last twogames,Olneyhadverylictleleft. Olney started with the usual cry from Cameron Byrne. He ran blind sprinting as st as he could; he managed co out run chem and he scored under the posts. 5-0. Edward Breeze was co cry and extend Olney's lead which he did with pride. 7-0. Lincoln then came straight back co score with their call, fast winger. As Olney players dived for his legs he dodged chem, getting passed every player in sight.7-5 They converted it and they where coming back.7-7 Olney started co tire a er the efforts in the past games and Lincoln got another rry using the same player.12-7. They missed the kick. Olney tried as hard as they could co come back, a er a motivational half time talk from their injured captain, Ryan Wells, but Lincoln turned over the ball and scored yet again . 1 7-7 You could see that their kicker didn't really try for che conversion, it didn't matter co him because there was only one last play. To sum it all up Olney came runners up in the bowl (3rd place play off). Last year they came runnersupofthecup(1stplaceplayoff). played. After having a great win in their last game Olney vs. Waterloo : Win Olney where up for this one! Another early try came from Olney's Cameron Byrne under the poscs.5-0. This made it an easy kick for Edward Breeze. 7-0. Waterloo cook the quick restart and put Olney under pressure, Waterloo then turned ic over. Waterloo found gaps and ran them, spinning the ball out and getting an over lap. Until finally, they dived for the line and scored.7-5. A great conversion sent the ball right up high in the air and over the poscs.7- 7.
