Pantomime Time
Christmas has come around again and that means pantomimes and there is a wealth to choose from. It isn’t too late to book tickets for you and your family to enjoy this festive tradition! Oh yes it is! Oh no it’s not! Here is a quick look on what’s on in theatres this Christmas.

Dick Whittington at Milton Keynes Theatre:
Pack up your Christmas dodgy jumper and turkey troubles, pull on the old duffel and go to Milton Keynes this festive season and join the adventures of Dick Whittington and his trusty cat Tommy as they arrive in London to seek their fortune. Samantha Womack leads the star-studded cast with her rodent friends as the evil Queen Rat.
As Dick discovers that London’s street aren’t really paved with gold he meets a merchant’s daughter, Alice Fitzwarren and things begin to look up. Queen Rat, however, has other ideas. Will Dick ever  nd his fortune? The performance runs from 8th December – 15 January 2017. Peter Pan a Musical Adventure at The Bedford Corn Exchange:
From the talents of Rare Productions the UK’s largest youth musical theatre group comes a brand new take on the well-loved classic Peter Pan. With music by George Styles and lyrics by Anthony Drewe the Darling Children take off on their adventures with Peter and discover that Neverland is not as carefree has they had been led to believe. Cinderella at The Bedford Corn Exchange:
Bought to you by the award winning Bedford Pantomime Company this is family panto at its best. With a live band, elaborate costumes and sets Cinderella is a treat for the entire family and it won’t break the bank. Jack and The Beanstalk at The Derngate:
The famous and well-loved story of Jack and The Beanstalk is bought to life in this lively production at The Royal and Derngate. Young Jack Trot is tricked into selling his precious cow for a handful of magic beans, much to the dismay of his Mother who throws them to the ground. The next morning a giant beanstalk has grown that rises high into the clouds and here is where their whirlwind adventures begin! Packed with laughs, awe inspiring special effects, brilliant music and a great deal of audience participation Jack and The Beanstalk promises to be an enormously entertaining show for all ages. The Snow Dragon at The Stables:
This offering from The Stables is the perfect choice for families that want their children to experience theatre but don’t want a show that’s as full on as the larger pantomimes. The show is only an hour, which is the ideal introduction for children into the world of theatre.
The performance is about a young goat named Billy who has everything a goat could need. Billy is looking forward to his annual visit from the Snow Dragon, a legendary beast that will bring him lots of wonderful treats. He, however, bumps into a pack of hungry wolves in the forest. The snow Dragon’s visit seems a very long way away... will Billy escape? Filled with bouncy songs and a plenty of laughs this production is perfect for ages three and up. The Snow Dragon runs between Friday 23rd December – Saturday 31st December at 1:20pm and 3:30 pm. Tickets are £12 for Adults, £10 for Children under 16 and a Family ticket (Two Adults

Peter and The Star-Catcher At The Northampton Royal:
Peter and the Star-Catcher takes the audience on a journey through a Neverland that has never been seen before as the Northampton’s Royal Stage is transformed into the magical world of Peter Pan from the 29th November to 31st December. Star-Catcher Molly embarks on a daunting journey to stop an important delivery of stardust from falling into the wrong hands when she meets a familiar face. Together audience and performers unravel the mystery of how Peter became the boy who never grew up. The production whirls the audience into the folds of its magical mystery with clever storytelling and stagecraft, live music and an intriguing use of characters. Aladdin at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre:
The much loved story and pantomime Aladdin has found its way to Aylesbury waterside Theatre and has come fully packed with a star studded cast and plenty of hilarious antics to keep the whole family entertained. The Pantomime brings all the magic and glamour of the Christmas season to life with the genie granting Aladdin’s wishes from his magic lamp so he can impress the beautiful Princess Jasmine.
