Athletics Success
Congratulations to the Year 5 & 6 Indoor Athletics team who came 3rd in the MK nals on Wednesday 9th March. The 8 boys and 8 girls each took part in one eld
event (speed bounce, long jump, triple jump or javelin) and a running event (hurdles, a 2 or 4 lap sprint, or a longer 6 lap race). Finally each competitor took part in relay races, which provided a thrilling end to the event. The team were awarded bronze medals, nishing only 10 points behind Two Mile Ash second place, who themselves were only 1 point behind the winners, Orchard School. Our pupils once again were a true credit to the school as they demonstrated their fantastic athletics skills, excellent teamwork and superb sportsmanship towards competitors from other schools. Thank you to the parents, other pupils and staff who came to support the team.

A Busy Month
It’s been a busy month at Sherington Church of England School. The Sparrows kicked off their new topic “Do Cows Drink Milk?” with a trip to Mead Open Farm where they found out all about farm animals and had many questions to ask the farmer. Since getting back into the classroom they have been very lucky
to have Mrs Betty Feasey MBE helping them build their very own cow! Meanwhile, the Robins and Owls enjoyed a trip to Mr Mulligan’s Pirate Adventure golf which tted in nicely with their “Land Ahoy” topic. They have been learning to retell stories, use co-ordinates in map reading and learn how to speak like a pirate! To celebrate World Book Day, parents and carers were invited to school for ‘Breakfast with a Book’ where they were treated to pastries and coffees whilst they read with the children. Of course, all the children and staff dressed up as their favourite book character - Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, an Oompa Loompa, Horrid Henry, Kylo-Ren, the Big Bad Wolf plus lots of other wonderful characters! We were very proud of our year 2 Owls as they led our special Mother’s Day Assembly by each reading out their reasons why their mums are important to them. The whole school then entertained their audience with some beautiful singing.
Book Worms celebrate World Book Day
Pupils at Bozeat Primary School and Nursery, along with many other schools around the county, celebrated World Book Day in style! The children not only ‘got reading’ but did lots of other amazing activities across the school with a view to inspiring a
love for reading.
Children aged from 3 to 11 came dressed as one of their favourite characters from story books they enjoy or have been exploring throughout the term. Stop, Drop and Read sessions occurred throughout the day where children dropped what they were doing to read their favourite books. All children have been given a ‘World Book Day’ voucher which can be used in exchange for special editions or as part payment towards buying any other book.
The day ended for the Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils with a bedtime story session. Pupils and parents came back to school with their teddy bears, dressed in pyjamas and slippers to hear bedtime stories and nishing the evening with a biscuit and a hot chocolate before heading back home to bed.
