Clean For The Queen
Musical Town Meeting
Volunteer’s Day
This year, to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday, Newport Pagnell Town Council is coordinating a day of litter picking between 9.30 am and 1.00 pm on 6th July 2016 as part of the Clean for the Queen campaign. Volunteers will meet next to Bury Common, at the long stay car park
at 9.30 am, and will be provided with all necessary equipment. Team leaders will take groups to various areas of the town for litter picking.
Please email Janine on web@newport-pagnell.org.uk or phone her on 01908 618756 to put your name down for this event. This will ensure we provide enough equipment for everyone.
It’s only 3 1⁄2 hours of your time in a whole year – come on – join us, help keep Newport Pagnell beautiful, and meet new friends who all care about our town. Whether you are disabled, young, middle-aged or a senior citizen, or can only be on your feet for a very short period of time, we would welcome you.
If you have children at a primary school, please ask if that school is also partaking in the litter picking event on that day. Various schools in Newport Pagnell will set up schedules to litter pick in the afternoon after school, in a park near to their school. Let’s report to the Queen – all spic and span Ma’am. A fun community event for everyone!
Newport Pagnell
This year the Town Council is delighted to announce it will be holding its Annual Town Meeting on the 21st April 2016, at 7.15pm for 7.30pm at Ousedale School, Newport Pagnell.
You will be treated to a number of performances from the Diamond Theatre, as well as hearing from the Mayor, the Historical Society on the History of Newport Pagnell, and from the Re-enactment Committee, who are putting on a wonderful large scale town event this year by staging a re- enactment battle.
Everyone is invited. Do join us for a glass of wine or orange juice.
Do you know of anyone living within the town who deserves to be recognised for their outstanding good works or their voluntary contributions to Newport Pagnell for the last year or over many years?
If you do and would like to nominate them for the Town Award then please write to the Town Clerk, Shar Roselman, Newport Pagnell Town Council, 80 High Street, MK16 8AQ, or e-mail townclerk@newport-pagnell.org.uk by 4th April 2016. We will need a brief paragraph of about 100 words explaining why this person deserves the award.
The Town Council is delighted to receive nominations from people in all walks of life. The award will be presented at the Annual Town Meeting on 21st April 2016.
