September brings us BOFF, the Big Olney Food Festival, only this year it’s even bigger than usual, covering two days over the weekend of 6th and 7th.
So throw away those diet sheets and come to Olney for some delicious fun. We tell you what you can expect inside the magazine.
Music is a big feature of BOFF this year and the Rock with Boff finals will be played out on Sunday from noon onwards. Having been to the semi-finals at The Two Brewers and seen the quality of the bands it will be a contest not to be missed. We have a few pictures of the semi- finals inside the magazine, with more on our Facebook site, and will report on the results in next month’s Phonebox.
Now when that’s all over you’ll want to shed the odd pound or two you may have put on. Newport Pagnell has the answer with their annual Muster, which is on the following weekend,
Answer this question:
We all know Hawkwind played outside the perimeter fence at the Isle of White Pop Festival in 1970. But who played with them?
Was it: The Pink Fairies, The Pink Nomads or Lily the Pink.
Answers can be emailed to the team at: competitions@phoneboxmagazine.com or sent in by snail- mail: Phonebox Competitions, Unit 2, Stanley court, Olny, bucks, MK46 5NH

The Cowper and Newton Museum are displaying Olney Families’ Memories of WW1, and Yardley Hastings Remembers Home and Front can be seen from 7th to 12th September in their Memorial Hall, both are well worth a visit.
Inside we also have our own memoriam to the fallen of World War 1. Turn to page 80 to see who in this area gave up their lives for our freedom in September 1914.
