P. 5

June is the month that everything gets going, the sun is out, the blossom has joined it and the jetstream has naly moved over, giving us better weather; thank you Virgin or whoever runs the jetstream.
Our events listings are packed to the gunnels,
there is so much to do this month, so don’t waste the improvement in the weather, get out there and enjoy yourselves.
Our walk this month covers Weston Underwood and
the Cowpers Alcove, so if you’ve never been there now is your chance, and Cowper has even provided us with a refreshment stop on the way! While we were out recently we met up with our local
MP Mark Lancaster at a presentation held by MK
Mobility, who started in the High Street, Newport Pagnell and now have of ces in Milton Keynes, we have a lovely picture of him trying to run Brian White down with an invalid scooter! All in fun I’m sure.... Anyway Brian survived and we wish him luck in his new task of Mayor of MK. We know he’ll do well. See the story and pics on page 67.
And for those that spotted we scooped The Times in our April issue with our article “The Paradox of Abuse” which was on page 39.
The Times put the story on their front page on May 10th. We have a follow up this month on the charity that helped Eli Ward so much, more information on Climb Your Mountain on page 78. Ron Hall (Editor)
