We start this report with the very sad news of the death of Brian Fletcher. Brian was a great supporter of the club, and was a member of the ORFC Touring party to South Africa.
Brian passed away on the 5th November aged 73. Brian will also be remembered for his work at Bedford RFC, as secretary of the Colts from 1984-87, the 2nd XV from 1989-90 and the 1st XV from 1992-94. Our thoughts are with his son Iain and family at this sad time.

Annual Saints Tournament for Olney Under 8s
The annual Saints tournament for Olney Under 8s came very early in the season this year after only one week of competitive fixtures and was hotly contested by 22 teams from around the region.
Given the lunchtime kick-off for the Saints televised Heineken Cup match versus Glasgow, all teams had to be ready to go at the unsociable hour of 8.30am on Sunday morning. Nevertheless Olney U8s were not caught napping and put in a fantastic performance with both of their teams getting to the semi-finals, with Olney 2’s unfortunately losing to Rushden but Olney 1’s beating Towcester to get to the final.
The final was a very close affair with a late turnover making the difference and Olney losing 4-2. Their performance however meant they were able to go on to the Franklin’s Gardens pitch at half time to receive their well deserved medals and runner-up trophy.”
